I specialise in construction and infrastructure disputes and have extensive experience ranging from security of payment adjudications and sub-contractor's charges through to large complex claims. I hold a Master of Construction Law from the University of Melbourne and I have tutored in Construction Law at the University of Queensland. Although I now specialise in Construction Law, since being admitted to practice in 2002, I have gained a diverse range of experience in all aspects of commercial litigation. My litigation experience includes contractual, partnership and lease disputes in both the Supreme and District Courts of Queensland. I also have significant experience in alternative forms of dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert determination. I have also practiced extensively in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency with experience in bankruptcy proceedings, the winding up of corporations. I have acted for and advised administrators and liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy. In 2010, I successfully completed the IPAA (now ARITA) education program. I have also worked in the areas of professional indemnity and insurance. This involved investigating claims, the collation of evidence in relation to claims, managing the conduct of claims (including liaising with insurers and their legal representatives) and providing advice to partners and employees on issues of legal ethics and legal professional privilege. In addition to my commercial litigation experience, I have also acted for the Pharmacy, Chiropractor and Psychologist Boards of Queensland in relation to disciplinary proceedings brought against members who breached their codes of conduct. I have also previously been appointed to the prosecution panels for Queensland Health and the Residential Tenancies Authority. I am member of the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board of QLD and Deputy Chair of the QLS Ethics Committee.
