Elinor Haider is Vice President of Market Development for Veolia North America. In this role she leads development and execution of a commercially-oriented policy, regulatory and sustainability/CSR strategy for its over $2 billion Municipal & Commercial and Industrial lines of business. Ms. Haider leads active engagement with government decision makers and industry organizations to support regional operations, lead generation and M&A activity. She represents VNA on key industry organizations including the Advanced Energy Economy, US Conference of Mayors, the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Wharton’s Institute for Advanced Global Environmental Leadership and the Alliance for Industrial Efficiency.Ms. Haider has 20 years of energy, finance and real estate experience. Prior to Veolia Energy, Ms. Haider served as CEO at NovaThermal Energy, an early stage cleantech/watertech company. In that role she led NovaThermal Energy to secure comprehensive intellectual property filings, build a robust project pipeline, and fund and execute commercial scale demonstration projects. Ms. Haider has served as Deputy Commerce Director and COS for Philadelphia's Deputy Mayor for Economic Development. Prior to that role, she led the recapitalization of the loan portfolio for the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation. Through grant, debt, tax credit and securitization programs, Ms. Haider raised over $100 million in new resources, to leverage over $2 billion in private real estate transactions, including a first-time award of New Markets Tax Credits. Ms. Haider holds a MBA in Real Estate Finance from the Wharton School, MA in international economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and BA from Georgetown University. Ms. Haider served in numerous civic leadership roles including on the Boards of Directors of Philadelphia Outward Bound, Schuylkill River Development Corp and Reed Manufacturing.
