Tom works with hospitals and health systems to help position them for success in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. As a member of ECG’s Provider Financial Services Division, he has partnered with some of the nation’s leading healthcare institutions to build high-performing provider enterprises.Since joining ECG, Tom has helped develop the firm’s national provider compensation service area into one of the industry’s leading compensation advisory services. He specializes in crafting implementable provider-compensation solutions that reflect clients’ core mission, vision, and values. Recently, he led the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide, value-based physician compensation and performance framework at a large Michigan health system with over 1,000 employed physicians. He also assisted one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems (approximately 4,000 employed physicians) with the design and implementation of a flexible physician compensation framework that balances local market-specific factors with broader organizational consistency.Prior to joining ECG, Tom worked at one of the largest provider enterprises in Texas, where he supported a variety of key strategic, financial, and operational initiatives. One of his biggest projects involved the redistribution of pediatric services within the South Texas healthcare market. He also helped lead a multimillion-dollar performance improvement initiative targeting patient access, experience, and throughput in an ambulatory environment. Previously, he worked in the healthcare practice of a financial services group, where he assisted institutional investors with their due diligence and market intelligence processes.
