Mr. Stadtmauer concentrates on defending consumer and other liability claims against pharmaceutical and consumer product sellers. His clients include manufacturers and distributors of drugs, medical devices, biologics, nutraceuticals and other consumer products and raw material components. Consumer fraud class action lawsuits are increasingly common in the life sciences area, exposing both large and small manufacturers, distributors and marketers. Despite recent changes on the law, generic drug manufacturers are still susceptible to claims stemming from alleged manufacturing defects and improper marketing. Dietary supplements and other widely marketed consumer products are disproportionately targeted. Mr. Stadtmauer is committed to helping clients prevent problems before they occur and identifies potential weaknesses in product labeling; production, manufacturing and quality control procedures; marketing and sales literature; recordkeeping and claims procedures; and regulatory compliance. He often works with other attorneys and non-legal professionals to assist the timely development of recall and tort contingency plans, public relations control and corporate compliance.
