Désirée’s practice focuses on the worldwide trade mark and design portfolio management, international prosecution and clearance, enforcement, exploitation and commercialisation of trade marks and designs. Désirée has significant experience in negotiating and drafting settlement and co-existence agreements and in bringing and defending trade mark oppositions, invalidity and revocation actions before the UK Intellectual Property Office (“UKIPO”) and EU Intellectual Property Office (“EUIPO”). Désirée has been involved in complex multi-jurisdictional trade mark oppositions and litigation and has experience with coordinating trade mark projects on a global basis. Désirée has experience in a working for a wide variety of clients across all sectors, including luxury and consumer brands, food and drink, alcoholic beverages, media, technology and communications, financial services, gambling, pharmaceutical, hotel and leisure and defence industries. She has a particular passion for the FMCG and sports and entertainment sectors. Désirée regularly writes for various intellectual property publications and has contributed articles to CITMA Review, Entertainment Law Review, Word Trademark Review, Trade Mark Reporter, Computer and Telecommunications Law Review, E-Commerce Law & Policy Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice and Intellectual Property Magazine. She has been an active member of the INTA Trademark Reporter Committee since 2018.
