I first started getting interested in art towards the end of 8th grade from my art teacher Heather Groenstein and that’s what pushed me into going to the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts for high school where I majored in visual arts. Through my years at the Academy I grew a great interest in photography but more in the film photography category I enjoyed being in the darkroom and developing photos. On the side I joined a group affiliated with the Wadsworth Museum called T.A.G.Teen Advisory Group where the mission was to get teens more involved in the arts and we volunteered for events such as MLK Day and Second Saturday. During the summer of ’09 I was lucky to be picked to do the apprenticeship for Neighborhood Studios at the Wadsworth after doing that I began interested in wanting to be a curator for a future career. I’ve volunteered at the Wadsworth Museum and also at ArtSpace for their Open Studio event for the past two years which also got me interested in event programming and more interested in the arts.
