My passion is finding creative ways to use statistics and machine learning to solve problems. From experience I know that, in the end, most data problems are solved by sophisticated versions of counting.Last year I released Thinking with Data (O'Reilly 2015), a book about borrowing ideas from design thinking and rhetoric to find ways to better scope data science problems. It turns out that if you just let us nerds run free on data sets, not much good comes out of it. I pride myself on working with everyone, from C-suite to front-line worker, to better understand how a business works and how quantitative thinking can make it better.
