Collaborating With University Leaders On Implementation of Salesforce to Connect the Campus and Improve Student Service
UMass Lowell, a midsized public research university located north of Boston, offers full- and part-time students bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs online and on campus.
I have been working in Higher Education for almost 30 years where I have continuously pursued the use of technology to improve administrative operations. My career began supporting admissions recruiting using a Macintosh LCIII as a department server and now I am Director of Enterprise Applications for the UMass Lowell campus. During these three decades, I've been directly involved with the implementation of new technologies which have improved administrative functionality across the entire University. Major organizational transforming applications previously included PeopleSoft for Human Resources, Finance, and Student Administration. Since 2014, I have been focused on implementing Salesforce to connect the campus and improve services for students. UMass Lowell has a single instance of Salesforce with over 300 end-users across dozens of offices. We continue to expand to support student services which includes admissions, orientation, one-stop services, registrar, financial aid, student billing, career services, student retention, and advising. I work with a small team of Project Managers and Salesforce Administrators to deliver end-to-end Salesforce support. We strive to be trusted partners to our academic and administrative user community.
