Carlo is an extremely talented and thoughtful creative. After graduating Cum Laude from the Honors program at Florida International University, Carlo went to Miami Ad School to become an Art Director. During his second quarter at MAS Carlo won the school’s highest award, Top Dog. Soon after D&D Pencils, Cannes Shortlists and other awards followed. Competition and collaboration were a thrill, both filled him with joy. Having grown up drawing, painting, writing, engaging in of all sorts of cultural activities and having a curious and playful mind made it natural for Carlo to become and Art Director–an artful conceptual thinker. Then like now, there are no rules, just brands and possibilities. Susan Credle, gave him his first break in New York, she brought him on to her group at BBBDO where Carlo worked on AT&T and M&M’s. It was an amazing learning experience, and incredibly humbling at the same time. Meeting Adam Reeves and Greg Hahn proved that rock stars were some of the nicest people in advertising. Carlo was young and wanted new experiences so he left BBDO, an agency he loved and went to work at Strawberry Frog. There he met incredibly creative and hardworking people like Corinna Falusi and Josh Greenspan, both top notch leaders. After some time, Carlo left the agency to work on Google at Johannes Leonardo. Jan and Leo had been strong, influences on Carlo–he had loved interning for them at Saatchi NY years back. Kerry Keenan, who Carlo had worked for at Saatchi had a great thing going at Y&R NY. It was a place filled with familiar (and talented) faces, so Carlo went over. There, he and Elizabeth Polkinghorne came up with the 7th Wheel for Land Rover. A truly beloved film, insightful, simple and full of heart–it was Carlo’s biggest production yet. Around that time Carlo fell in love, a few months he mentioned, he was curious about California, specifically Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. Luckily, the interest was shared. After, a few conversations with Zach Canfield, a trip to meet Rich, Jeff and Margaret, along with reuniting with Adam Reeves, one of Carlo’s greatest influences, he was on his way to the west coast. There, Carlo got better at work as well as life. At GS+P, Carlo continued creating impactful, award winning campaigns while also learning how to put on concerts, develop apps and find balance in life. Now in LA, Carlo has continued to grow taking on leadership. and culture defining roles at RPA and now at Team One/Publicis. Today he is a Creative Director leading the Lexus Brand work with his partner Sabina Hesse.
