Welcome to the new Me! As anyone who knew me knows I enjoy cooking and turning out lots of different tasty items. Well I've turned my talents for cooking into helping those less fortunate. I've joined up as a volunteer at Bracken's Kitchen (http://brackenskitchen.com/) helping Chef Bill Bracken turn out tasty and nutritious meals on a weekly basis. I've turned in my frying pan for a 65 gal. braiser and other larger implements to help Chef Bill. You will find me there typically Monday through Wednesday making casseroles, stews, soup, chopping and preparing fresh vegetables, and making and mixing fresh salads. I am focused on two of Bill's programs, his outreach feeding program which currently serves about 1,000 people per month and the recovered food program which servers another 25,000 meals distributed through multiple volunteer and county agencies. Recently Bracken's Kitchen was featured in an award-winning video which showcases Bill and his vision: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFliYcyS-M8 , this video provides a good overview of what Bill and his volunteers do to provide that tasty meal to those less fortunate. As with any non-profit organization we are in constant need of donation to help us eliminate hunger in our communities. I've included a link to the Kitchen's website and I would encourage you to explore and see what we are all about. Donation are always welcome. As an alternative to donations you can also hire us to cater your next event. Through Catering for a Cause we can provide event catering for 20 to 400 people with all profits going directly to Bracken's Kitchen to support our ongoing efforts. Since we are located in Orange County, CA our service area includes Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.
