Aaron is Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Providence Health Services (PHS). At PHS Aaron leads mergers & acquisitions, early stage technology investments, commercialization of PHS intellectual property, and digital alliances. Aaron also manages PHS’s health care venture fund. Prior to PHS, Aaron worked for Amazon, McKinsey & Company, and was an executive/founder of two early-stage technology companies.While at Amazon, Aaron was general manager of CreateSpace, Amazon’s self-publishing and print on demand business. CreateSpace gives authors the ability publish their book on Amazon for free. Aaron led the global expansion of CreateSpace’s on-demand book manufacturing platform to multiple manufacturing locations in the US, Germany, UK, and Japan. Customers in the US, Japan and Europe can now order millions of titles from independent authors and publishers which are printed and shipped the same day as ordered. Aaron went on to lead the Kindle North American Trade business helping major publishing partners like Random House, Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins transition their businesses to ebooks. Prior to Amazon, Aaron was a principal in two venture back start-ups funded by NEA and Mayfield. Equidity was a commercial credit platform sold to Sanchez Systems in 2001. Informance was a lean manufacturing software company sold to Epicor in 2010. Aaron is an angel investor in early-stage technology companies. Most recently he invested in Qaazow, a developer of advanced Q&A technology for websites and web applications.Aaron's interests outside of family and work are diverse. He plays drums for "Dragged and Dropped" a Seattle cover band. Aaron participates in competitive soccer, boxing, and Brazilian jujitsu. Aaron is a passionate Seattle Sounders and Manchester United fan.
