Early in my accounting career I was a subject matter expert on a finance system implementation. After that implementation, I knew I was hooked and I wanted my future to focus on systems. My career shows a progression from a public accounting auditor to a financial reporting accountant to systems implementation consultant to finance systems management. Along the way I have been able to draw on my accounting roots to help various companies optimize the use of their ERP systems. I speak business, and I speak technology. It is a unique skill set and has served me well in my role as translator between finance and IT.I am especially passionate about technology when it enables process improvement. Throughout my career in accounting and finance system management I have looked for opportunities to replace manual processes with automation. One of my favorite things is to retire a manual spreadsheet with automation available in an existing system. This means efficiency and better controls are implemented at no extra cost.
