After managing a variety of hospitality and food production operations for The Marriott Corporation for several years, I received a BS in Information Systems and joined the Information Systems Department of their Host operating division. I performed systems analysis and project management for the Host division, until I was promoted to the Future Technology Group. The Future Technology Group performed system development, administration and integration. During this time, the Host division was spun off as part of the newly formed Host Marriott Corporation. Shortly afterward, I was promoted to system engineering, performing cost benefit analysis and project management, in addition to system integration on enterprise applications, e.g. General Ledger Management. Host Marriott Services Corporation, now known as HMS Host Corporation, the worlds largest provider of hospitality services in airports and other travel venues, was spun off into an entirely independent corporation, a year later. I was named Senior Systems Engineer with broad operational responsibility for enterprise computing systems. The Senior Systems Engineer works for the Senior Director of Technical Infrastructure, a direct report to the executive Vice President for Information Systems / Chief Information Officer and provides direct input to strategic planning and decision making.
