As someone who is constantly inspired by pattern and colour, I am very lucky to have two equally enjoyable strands to my working life. For the past 17 years my talented team of female decorators and I have been transforming peoples’ homes using sumptuous paint colours, beautiful wallpapers and decorative paint techniques. The flexibility of the decorating business has allowed me to develop my lifelong love of textile arts and crafts. An affinity with wool of all kinds can be traced back to my Scottish heritage, which provided me with knitting and sewing skills from a young age. I have continued learning, adding new skills and extending the range of my craft studies in the areas of knitting, hand embroidery, feltmaking and weaving through courses with some brilliant, well-known tutors. For the past 6 years I have had the pleasure of passing on these delightful pastimes to others, at my London workshops, combining a long-established enjoyment of getting together with people from all walks of life, alongside another great pleasure – playing with pattern and colour. Much like the old tradition of quilting bees, my workshops provide a space for like-minded souls to gather, chat and laugh whilst exploring our creative abilities. More recently I have joined forces with other local groups to run workshops in pubs, at festivals, galleries and Open Studios. Great fun!
