I am passionate about educating nursing students and other health care professionals about mental and physical health issues affecting older adults, researching mental health issues affecting older adults, and improving the lives of older adults through my involvement with public and private community-based organizations. I am fortunate to have been recognized as an emerging leader in geropsychiatric nursing by the John A. Hartford Foundation, Women Health Care Executives of Northern California, and Freedom From Fear mental health advocacy organization, and by other organizations. I am an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the Gerontological Society of America, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
