Curtis is the Assistant Vice President of Technology for CarMax Auto Finance at CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used vehicles. CarMax is revolutionizing the used car buying experience through customer-facing and associate enhancing technologies. CarMax’s integrated teams work in a unique “startup” environment to drive innovation solutions through lean and agile methodologies, while being backed by the support of a large, established Fortune 500 company. Curtis has over 20 years of experience delivering enterprise scale technology solutions. He has a proven track record of leading large technology initiatives in a variety of areas that have included Operations, Sales, Human Resources, Accounting, and most recently Auto Finance. In addition to leading large strategic efforts, Curtis has extensive experience in leading strategic initiatives for both custom application development and SAAS (Software as a Service) solutions. Through these experiences Curtis has become equipped to support regulatory, compliance, and security initiatives through technology that include Sarbanes-Oxley, CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) readiness, PCI compliance, and more. Curtis has demonstrated his ability to deliver by driving teamwork across multiple business lines and influencing those that he works with at all levels of the organization. With a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from James Madison University, Curtis is passionate about technology. He is a member of the Society for Information Management (SIM) where he graduated from their Regional Leadership Forum (RLF).
