Chuck Spang is a motivated visual artist that has maneuvered his way with determination and dedication through the changing times of commercial photography. Educated in photojournalism in the 80’s, he soon realized that advertising and public relations photography suited him best. He started Spang Photography while still in college in Buffalo, NY, quickly developing a broad clientele with the areas top manufacturers featuring General Motors, Pratt and Lambert, and Pepsi. In 1986 he moved to New York City to further advance his skills and expertise. After assisting some of the all time great talents of advertising photography including Craig Cutler, Wolfgang Hoyt, and Michel Tcherevkoff, he settled in at Kevin Lowes Studio as the studio manager and lead still life photographer for a 12 year run. At this very busy catalog fashion studio Chuck managed a growing business, hiring top notch photographers, stylists, and assistants to keep up with the growing clients’ needs. During this time Chuck studied computer design, Photoshop, Macromedia Director, Quark Express, and HTML at the School of Visual Arts. With these skills he led the transition to digital capture, retouch, and delivery of all images created at the Kevin Lowes Studio. Today these digital skills and a keen eye keep him busy as an assignment photographer and Digital Tech for location and studio fashion photo shoots.
