I was raised to always have a curious mind and explore all options, think logically, set higher goals in life and then hold myself accountable. That is what I do. I may not always come across as the best communicator the first time around, but my thought patterns are very clear, and I tend to look at problems from a customer’s perspective. I am in the habit of questioning the status quo and come up with creative and innovative ideas to help improve. I am able to influence and build consensus after making simplified solutions visible to all. I started my career as a programmer and after a while moved into program management. I learnt a lot in that role, practically everything from SDLCs to current technologies, architectural patterns, software engineering, and process improvement. Setting up the Colorado Data Center for Walmart was the best and the scariest experience of my life since I was going blind into the gray area of Infrastructure, had a tight deadline, was working with extensive cross-team collaborative environment. I brought structure to the chaos and got it done for the biggest retailer in the world. I managed Infra Ops teams after that for a while. When I started working with Logistics at Walmart I realized my passion – helping improve the lives of people on the ground in our supply chains, still doing manual work even if they have the best of systems since no one fully understands their job and pain points. People often ask me what exactly would I like to do? My answer is to design and implement zero touch supply chain solutions be it in an engineering role, product, or program. If I can follow my passion, I don’t mind the title. And I know with my knack of continuous learning I can perform any role exceedingly well. With the advent of post-COVID supply chains, it has become more apparent that the companies would need omnichannel integrations, cloud migrations, tool optimizations and skills improvement. That is where I come in to build robust teams and keeping them motivated in times of uncertainty and ambiguity while providing support to development for their areas of improvement. I am also a proud mother of two special daughters who have taught me to be very patient, since everyone has their own difficulties to overcome and development needs.
