By way of introduction, I am the founder and executive sponsor of The Tech Nest, AARP’s first university-based innovation lab focused on developing products and services by leveraging disruptive technologies. In title, I am a senior executive in AARP’s technology organization and a member of AARP's leadership team and operating committee. My value to the enterprise lies in structuring AARP’s investments in technology, doing so with the unique insight that comes from serving as a business leader. The opportunities to apply disruptive technologies to change business models, scale revenues and gain market share are truly astonishing. Having established a product prototyping service for our enterprise, my passion lies in unlocking the research and talent within the world’s most innovative universities. Insight and experience in this space positions me to transform R&D into commercial application. An accomplished executive with over 20 years of broad experience in the technology sector, I began my career in consulting and moved to positions of increasing responsibility in the logistics, product development, manufacturing and retail sectors. Holding leadership positions in all facets of technology and product life cycles, I’ve had the opportunity to lead teams in Latin America, Europe, Central Asia and the Far East. I hold degrees in Accounting and Information Systems and have attained executive program certificates from Georgetown, Columbia and Harvard. Be it innovation or investments, I have a passion for finding competitive advantages for firms through smart and practical investments in innovation and technology.
