The mission of the AAFP is to improve the health of patients, families, and communities by serving the needs of members with professionalism and creativity.
I am focused on improving medical education at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate level for family physicians and those that aspire to be family physicians. Our healthcare system needs well trained, highly skilled family physicians as the foundation of primary care in order to improve health and wellness. Continuing Medical Education with an emphasis on Quality and Performance Improvement is a critical aspect of the continuum of medical education. Actively working to improve well-being and resiliency of family physicians is an important element in high quality, safe, and accessible medical care. As a strong advocate, I work to increase recognition of the value of family physicians and the services we provide to patients, families, and communities.
