Vistra Energy is a Texas-based energy company focused on the competitive energy and power generation markets.

I am Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Vistra Corp. (NYSE: VST), a Fortune 270 company. In my role, I advise senior management and oversee all litigation, labor & employment, and environmental matters for the company. I also serve on Vistra’s management committee. Vistra is a premier retail electricity and power generation company based in Irving, Texas. Vistra operates in 20 states and markets in Canada and Japan with about 5,275 employees. Vistra’s retail brands serve approximately 5 million customers and its generation fleet totals approximately 39,000 megawatts of highly efficient generation capacity, with a diverse portfolio of natural gas, nuclear, coal, solar and battery energy storage facilities. Prior to joining Vistra, I served as counsel at the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins, LLP, an international law firm. Before entering private practice, I served as a judicial law clerk for A. Joe Fish, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas in Dallas, and for Pasco M. Bowman, circuit judge of the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in Kansas City, Mo. Prior to law school, I worked in Washington, D.C., as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota. I'm a native of North Dakota, and graduated with my law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor and with a bachelor's in philosophy from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis.
