Mr. Sheffield is a Senior Research Scientist at STAR Dynamics Corp. Mr. Sheffield has had extensive experience in RCS measurement, radar waveform design, SAR/ISAR image processing techniques and related data processing and analysis. Early in his career he designed real-time signal processing algorithms for LO RCS measurements. Subsequently, he was key in the design and development of the Knowbell™ RCS processing software. He is versed in SAR collection geometries, and has developed novel image processing techniques for two- and three-dimensional SAR applications. Mr. Sheffield has been heavily involved in motion compensation techniques for dynamic RCS measurement for both ground-to-air and air-to-air configurations. In addition, he has developed processing techniques for same-aperture glint analysis, as well as the estimation of wavelength-dependence from phase gradients in scatterer point-spread functions. He also designs polyphase sequences with favorable properties for pulse compression or ambiguous range clutter suppression. Publications available upon request.
