My career has been one of international and entrepreneurial adventure involving the creation of new business enterprises. In short, I have enjoyed building successful companies and organizations. I started with a specialty steel corporation in Pennsylvania and was assigned various management roles at newly acquired subsidiary companies around the US. By leveraging this experience and after completing an honors night school Masters (MS) degree in Business, I was recruited by one of the leading US general management consulting firms in Los Angeles and worked with a team to solve problems for many of the Western Fortune 500. Then, with other colleagues, we set up an executive search consulting organization which today has evolved into one of the top 10 in the world. Along the way, I became active in my alma mater, Lehigh University, and was elected President of the Alumni Association and later served for 9 years as a Trustee. Lehigh has honored me several times for leadership achievements. I have served on many Advisory and Director Boards including the UN Business Council, an international manufacturing corporation, University of Maryland, Walden University, Baltimore International College, several university entrepreneurial centers, the Ocean Conservancy, and various non profit organizations. I have been appointed a Senior Fellow at the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and served on the Executive Committee of its Board. I also was honored in 2012 to be selected a "CEO of the Year" in the mid-Atlantic region by Smart CEO magazine. Additionally, I was fortunate to own, develop, manage and eventually sell a successful vineyard operation which grew Syrah grapes in Sonoma, California.
