Shawbrook is a specialist UK savings and lending bank founded in 2011 to serve the needs of SMEs and individuals in the UK with a range of lending and saving products.

An established risk professional experienced in risk management framework development, driving cultural change and the provision of an effective 2nd line of defence within this framework, currently the Chief Risk Officer of a UK Bank. Experienced and comfortable participating in Board level discussions and most recently responsible for the Enterprise Risk Management framework of a UK Regulated Bank, including the setting and oversight of overall risk appetite, risk analytics, reporting and 2nd line operational risk, as well as the wider business risk assurance, ICAAP and RRP preparation. Previously responsible for the UK Credit Risk function, managing 240 risk employees and ensuring adherence to risk appetite and quality of credit decisioning, portfolio management and the overall credit risk culture. Experience of managing risk across large and remote teams, developing the overall risk culture and leading strategic risk discussions both at Board level and across the wider Bank shareholder risk organization. Enjoys challenges and has seen considerable career investment including exposure to other business through residential training.
