I joined Southern Cross Austereo as Chief Operating Officer in February 2016. SCA is one of Australia’s largest media companies with a highly diverse and successful set of media assets across the Australian geographic and demographic footprint. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team my responsibilities include overseeing the General Management Team across 65 markets, People and Culture, Strategy and Innovation, Research and Insights and Podcasting. A key part of my role is to ensure the Management Team continues to lean forward in positively influencing the future direction of the activities of SCA to meet the needs of the future media consumer. I previously joined the FFA as CFO in January 2012 to continue to expand my financial and commercial experience and to assist in the development of football in Australia. I was then promoted to the role of COO at the FFA in February 2013 which was a newly created role providing me the opportunity to have oversight over the commercial and strategic elements of the day to day operations of the FFA. This included direct control of the development of strategic initiatives and ownership of the key broadcast and media relationships of the FFA. My previous career at TEN was one of evolution as my role changed from a traditional financial accountant through to financial controller then CFO and finally a Group CFO role that was in substance more appropriately characterised as a Commercial Director /Deputy CEO role. I was a key decision maker and facilitator in many significant commercial transactions including the initial listing of TEN in 1998 through to most recently the design, negotiation and launch of ELEVEN (a multi channel joint venture with CBS) in January 2011.
