Paul Hanson is the President for Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this role, he is responsible for the largest tertiary facility in the Dakotas and oversight of the Sanford network facilities (including hospitals and clinics) in South Dakota, western Minnesota, and northwest Iowa. One of Paul's greatest skills is building high-performing teams that exceed internal and external benchmarks within the healthcare industry. Paul creates a collaborative work environment in which varied perspectives, strategic thinking and prudent stewardship of resources (both human and financial) are valued. In his nearly 30 years in President, CEO, and Administrator roles, his organizations have never lost money on operations. He has a consistently proven ability to work with staff and board members to yield above-average returns while maintaining an investment strategy that is consistent with not-for-profit organizations. Paul believes in honoring the past while innovating for the future to uphold the integrity of the organization and the people in it.
