I have spent my entire career in educational publishing with the continued goal of inspiring students to learn -- whether by designing unique classroom materials or inventing fun ways to get them interested and involved. I am currently Editor-in-Chief for Press4Kids (P4K), a publisher of daily news apps for young readers. P4K's first app, News-O-Matic, is the first daily newspaper for children in America. With five new articles published daily via the iPad app, News-O-Matic aims to engage early readers with current events, including the latest in US and world news, sports, science, arts, and kids in the news. The mission of the interactive application is to not only to inspire kids to read on a daily basis but to empower them to change their world through action. From 2007-2011, I ran Kahn Education to develop workbooks, assessments, online tutorials, and a variety of other materials for a myriad of educational publishers. I have written more than a dozen books for students between grades 6-12, including guides to algebra I, algebra II, and geometry. Before that, I spent nearly seven years at The Princeton Review as Managing Editor of Assessments and Content Development Director of K-12 Instruction. I spent 3 years at Montclair State University from 2009-2011 working toward dual graduate degrees in Elementary Education and Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics. My goal was to engage with students directly to better understand what gets them excited -- so that I can continue to create innovative and efficient products in all facets of educational publishing. I have used my extensive background in test preparation to tutor students for the NJ ASK, NJ HSPA, ACT, and SAT.
