In over 17 years in the IT industry I have worked in every level of IT, starting as help desk support and working all the way to management. Hard work and a "can-do" attitude have provided me the opportunities to advance my career and get me where I am today. In my current role, I'm leading a team of engineers and administrators who build, manage and maintain a cloud infrastructure for a software company. In my role as a manager and director, I've found that a hands-off philosophy works best. I believe in treating members of my team as I would hope to be treated if I were in their seat. I feel that flexibility is a huge key in not only acquiring but retaining talent as well. In utilizing this strategy, the members of the team have responded by delivering creative results and not only maintaining our service levels, but surpassing them every year. As a result, we have built our business from a $500.000 a year start up accessory to a $5 million a year department.
