CEO/Founder of MCS-T.O.U.C.H., an organization with substantial experience in reentry. I am the author of its "THINK" curriculum, which addresses criminal thinking errors; providing participants the tools to overcome their inevitable daily challenges while incarcerated and upon release. MCS-T.O.U.C.H. was Reentry Approved by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in March 2010. This was a 2-year process during which T.O.U.C.H. program elements and curriculum survived a rigorous overview and screening by a multidisciplinary team and was determined to be a reentry program which contains elements of effective practice. I am rehabilitation and reentry personified. I have played a key role in the development of offender and reentry programs for the Salvation Army and the Legal Aid Society. Under my leadership, MCS-T.O.U.C.H. has developed from an idea, to a complete wraparound support services center with a goal of becoming a Re-entry One-Stop. MCS-T.O.U.C.H. prioritizes CBT programming utilizing peer-to-peer mentoring, providing job readiness training, and employment placement to create career pathways. Employment programs for previously incarcerated individuals have created over $15 million in taxable wage income. Under my leadership, the Department of Labor recommended MCS-T.O.U.C.H. for recognition for utilizing Best Practices for its fiscal management. My message to all I encounter is, “It is not perfection sought, but merely genuine effort. Success is not an option and mediocrity is not choice”.
