Gavin was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the NATS in May 2012. This new role was created to enable the organisation to capitalise on the commercial value of the information it holds, further enhancing its efficiency and developing its competitive advantage. He passionately believes that technology is an enabler to new ways of working and business change and has delivered this within the organisation.This NATS group-wide role is also accountable for Cyber and Information Security and sets out strategy-level direction for the protection of NATS information and services. He firmly believes information security is fundamental to the modern digital business; both in terms of meeting NATS’ responsibility to deliver critical national services whilst also enhancing the commercial opportunities information security excellence offers.He is also accountable for Information Management and the delivery of NATS Business IT services - both infrastructure and applications across all NATS global locations.Gavin comes from Belfast and was educated at the University of Ulster and Glasgow Caledonian University .
