Environmental, Sustainability, Health and Safety professional with more than 25 years of environmental regulatory experience supporting power generation, gas & electric distribution, gas & electric transmission, and industrial settings with pro-active environmental management of operations, compliance, and strategy to achieve regulatory excellence, meet sustainability objectives and ensure long-term financial success. My goal is to help business thrive with environmental compliance programs, mitigate, and improve risk from operations, and ensure regulatory obligations are met to protect the environment. Currently managing a staff of 25 environmental professionals who support over 180 power generation facilities, I excel at navigating complex compliance matters, permitting challenges, and providing forward thinking regulatory solutions for an evolving energy business. Responsible for establishing Environmental Management Systems corporate wide, to supporting environmental policy, programs and coordinate the oversight of operations in over 30 US States, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom. Experienced in both facility level operations and corporate compliance initiatives with a demonstrated track record in complex agency negotiations, enforcement strategy and innovation to address compliance matters, evaluate and improve existing programs, or fully implement environmental management systems where structure, collaboration and initiative as needed. Extensive experience in asset regulatory evaluation, operational due diligence, and improvement of asset value by addressing compliance, securing permitting, improving compliance records, and implementing strategies for quality environmental programs. With proven industry expertise in electric power generation (fossil & renewables), electric & gas transmission and distribution including new electric power plant project development (permitting, construction, startup, commissioning), operations and change of use power projects (e.g. layup, decommissioning, repower, repurpose) for facility life cycle. Additional environmental experience in many industrial and manufacturing settings including energy, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, waste management, landfill operations, chemical and food industry to improve systems, conduct audits, interpret regulations, implement tools and guides for employee and facilities to achieve quality compliant results.
