I love opportunities that allow me to put my passion of problem solving together with my ability to build robust and scalable system architecture. It is a tremendously complex journey for many organizations to move from the traditional channel architecture to a channel agnostic customer centric solution. But it is also a very exciting challenge that can help to leapfrog the competition.In my current role I am taking on a slightly different challenge. Overall growth and the sustainability of IT system architecture have moved into the foreground while keeping a focus on channel agnostic shopping experiences.For the past couple of years I have been extremely fortunate to work with a group of individuals that transcend organizations and industries. That allowed me to take part in large scale transformations that fundamentally change how customers and brands interact. And while I was mainly part of the foundational projects I am looking forward to seeing what future teams will be able to build on top of that foundation.As my job history shows, I have gone back and forth between hands on software development and IT management positions. The grass always seems greener on the other side :-) In the end I do require a certain amount of hands on work in order to be at the top of my game and remain satisfied in my role.Before I started working in Retail IT I worked mostly on Enterprise Workflow & BI Solutions in the insurance (Life Insurance to be specific) and financial services space. That also included imaging systems as well as infrastructure management.I have worked in IT since 1997 and spent the last couple of years focusing on the retail industry which allowed me to learn much about OMS (Sterling OMS, Slingshot), Payment Systems (interfacing with Chase Paymentech & CyberSource), Tax Systems (Vertex) and Address verification (Experian QAS). Last but no least I have years of hands on experience with the Demandware platform that is now the Salesforce commerce cloud.I'm looking forward to connect with you!- Thomas
