An accomplished consumer executive with a background in high growth consumer and specialty retailing companies. Myles was most recently the CEO of Bare Escentuals where he was credited with leading the company through a $1.8 Billion acquisition by Shiseido of Japan. During his time as CEO, Myles led the company through revitalized growth strategy resulting in the launch of a new cosmetics range “Ready”, and new brand marketing platform under the “Be a Force of Beauty” campaign. Myles joined as CFO in 2004, later adding the title of COO in 2006. Under Myles’ direction Bare Escentuals was the largest cosmetics IPO ($1.9 Billion in 2006) since Estee Lauder. During Myles’ tenor, Bare Escentuals’ retail sales grew nearly 500% to over a Billion dollars. Prior to joining Bare Escentuals Myles was the CFO of The Gymboree Corporation, a public children’s specialty retailer, brought in as an integral member of an executive team tapped to revitalize the company. As part of this team, he launched a multi-brand strategy (Janie & Jack), returned the company to profitability, and drove over +750% increase in shareholder value. Myles is a member of the Board of Directors of Dutch LLC, which operates women’s contemporary brands Joie, Equipment, and Current|Elliot, and Philz Coffee a San Francisco Based Artisan Coffee Retailer.
