About Mercy: Mercy Springfield Communities is comprised of Mercy Hospital Springfield, named in the 100 Top Hospitals; an orthopedic hospital; a rehab hospital; a children's hospital; five regional hospitals in Lebanon, Aurora, Cassville, Mountain View, Missouri and Berryville, Arkansas; and Mercy Clinic, a physician clinic with nearly 700 doctors and locations throughout the region. It is part of Mercy, the seventh largest Catholic health care system in the U.S., which serves millions annually. Mercy includes 45 acute care and specialty (heart, children's, orthopedic and rehab) hospitals, more than 700 physician practices and outpatient facilities, 40,000 co-workers and more than 2,000 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. GHA Standards include 17 core competencies focused on the medical travel cycle for a healthcare organization.

Whether working for a top nonprofit health care company in the U.S. or serving as senior editor for an award-winning magazine, I have always been incredibly passionate about my work. But to be at my very best, I have learned to strike a balance between work and play, knowing that off-time activities, be it mountain biking, hiking or travel, fuel my creativity, sharpen my focus and breathe new energy into my work. While I have experience in both the journalism and marketing worlds, nothing has proven as invaluable as working in health care - a highly competitive, fast-paced environment that requires intense focus, agility and stamina. With a can-do spirit and a high say-do ratio, I have repeatedly proven that media relations strategy, in particular earned media, can move the needle.
