Experienced leader/attorney who helps turn legal/regulatory risk into success. I currently lead the Claims & Litigation and Employment teams in the legal department at The Standard. The Claims & Litigation team consists of 5 attorneys, a Legal Services Manager, 7 paralegals, and 5 legal assistants. The team handles all litigation and pre-litigation demand letters on behalf of the enterprise, and manages services of process and subpoena responses. The team also provides legal advice to the company’s claims departments. The Employment team consists of 2 attorneys and a paralegal who handle all labor, employment and immigration law matters for the enterprise. When The Standard is engaged in M&A activities, I also lead the team within Legal that is working on those matters. In addition to team/department leadership, I lead Legal's efforts in a number of important enterprise initiatives, including participation on the Third Party Risk Management Steering Committee, and Enterprise Data Governance Council. As a leader at The Standard, it is my mission to partner with my employees and business leaders in a way that helps them both reach their goals and grow. Over 18 years’ experience handling labor and employment law litigation and counseling, and helping employers satisfy their compliance obligations.
