I have spent more than two decades helping companies, industry groups, and governments understand and apply international trade rules to protect their interests and increase value. My practice covers a wide range of international trade, market access, investment, climate change, and other regulatory and policy matters, including related litigation and enforcement actions. I am currently the Head of the International Trade Group at King & Spalding based in our Washington DC office and was formerly the Managing Partner of our Geneva office, after establishing the office in 2010.My experience includes:-Advising clients on how to remove government barriers to market access for goods, services, and investment, particularly in relation to discriminatory taxation, licensing, product approvals, and related impediments;-Litigating before WTO panels and the Appellate Body, including the first case before a panel, the first case under the WTO Antidumping Agreement, the first case under the WTO Safeguards Agreement, and the largest case in terms of number of parties; -Representing clients in antidumping and anti-subsidy investigations around the world, including proceedings in Australia, Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Mexico, the United States, and other countries; and-Advising an industry on issues of first impression at the intersection of trade and climate change under California’s climate change law, AB32. I have spoken at numerous international trade and WTO seminars around the world and have also authored and co-authored a wide range of articles, papers and other publications. I have also been recognized by Chambers, Legal 500, Who’s Who, and other rankings and received the inaugural Trade MVP award from Law360.I enjoy watching my daughter in ballet, playing golf with my son, and supporting my wife’s fitness business, Java Fitness.
