I'm a versatile and knowledgeable IT infrastructure professional, with many years' experience working in financial services. I have in-depth experience of a large variety of projects, including transformation & outsourcing, and significant expertise in design, implementation and operational support & management. In addition to design and implementation I have a great deal of experience in the operational management of infrastructure, vendors and outsourcers, responding to IT security audits and carrying out risk reviews. Key Achievements •Managed the technology and infrastructure streams of major outsourcing exercises: vendor selection, procurement, service definitions, implementation through to vendor management once in operation. •Directed the technology stream designing and implementing a modern Data Centre based on: Cisco UCS compute, PURE SAN, NetApp Storage, Commvault backup, and NSX network virtualisation. Reduced data centre footprint and cost by over 50%, improving resiliency, and eliminating risk of ageing equipment. •Led the development and implementation of a Private Cloud solution based on VMWare vRealize to automate server, storage and network provisioning leading to significantly reduced implementation time and costs for new services. •Developed and maintained a groupwide security policy based on industry best practice, eg, PCI DSS and ISO27001, to bring global operating companies into alignment, reduce risk and provide a standard to be audited against. •Managed the IT infrastructure requirements to fit out a new HQ building and all IT infrastructure aspects of the migration of 2,000+ users. Included the implementation of follow-me print and Video-Conferencing services. •Developed a solution to support the co-location of two entities before physical network integration could begin. Allowed business units that spanned both entities to be physically co-located within 3 months of the acquisition and business synergies/savings to be realised 3-9 months earlier than waiting on network migrations.
