My way to Wellvana started with a clarifying summer job at NYU Med School. I had been focused on a career in medicine with a pre-med degree from Brown University in neuroscience. But contributing solutions to the business of healthcare grew more appealing. So I pivoted to the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University to work on my MBA. Initially, I worked in healthcare private equity and investment banking. Then in 2012, I joined health tech company Intermedix and became CFO in 2017, navigating the company through an acquisition in 2018. After the acquisition, I became CFO at SmileDirectClub, a D2C healthcare startup transitioning into a fast-growing international enterprise. Wellvana co-founder and Martin Ventures CEO Devin Carty, who I met in my Nashville Health Care Council Fellows cohort, brought me on as CEO in January 2022. Wellvana has experienced exponential revenue growth as we’ve assembled a talented team from across the country, growing from 35 to 200+ in the past year alone. Our footprint has grown from 6 states to 22, guiding primary care providers into a value-based future where they’re paid for keeping patients well rather than seeing evermore sick patients. After years of being a part of winning teams in the Ontario Hockey League, Canadian and US professional indoor lacrosse and several companies, it's fair to say I'm competitive and focused on winning. That instinct is consistently steeped in integrity, clarity and dependability, which have become some of Wellvana's core values. I live in Nashville with my wife, three kids and labradoodle, and while I do like to win, I keep my cool coaching my kids’ sports teams, in the rink and on the golf course.
