My career has developed over the last 20+ years in the financial services sector where I have held senior roles in large complex groups, led business critical consulting engagements for big 4 accountancy firms and operated as principal advisor in regulatory interventions including section 166 reviews. I have direct experience of communicating with executive management, Boards and regulatory supervisory teams - reporting to them on management’s progress with accomplishing obligatory and mandatory outcomes. My professional expertise is in developing and implementing risk governance frameworks; and in directing portfolios of technical review activity to improve risk management practices and strengthen systems of internal control. My risk assessment work has resulted in provision of invaluable assurance and insight to Board Committees on critical aspects of strategy, commercial performance, regulatory compliance and business change. I am apt in leveraging stakeholder relations, with a track-record of working proficiently in partnership with executive teams and other control functions to ultimately achieve strategic objectives. I have also led control function capability enhancement projects as a result of changes to group structures, regulatory interventions and to meet professional codes of conduct. I am currently a non-executive director/trustee at two charities. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a member of the Institute of Risk Management and hold Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees.
