Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company is engaged in the development, manufacture, sales and services of automotive components, transportation related components, industrial machines and systems, and offers a wide range of automotive systems including engine management systems, electric power train systems, drive control systems and car information systems.

I am an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University School of Communication and a researcher in the Media Neuroscience Lab. Broadly speaking, my research explores human communication phenomena from neuroscientific and evolutionary perspectives. I am particularly interested in how neural networks related to attention and reward shape media enjoyment and how content features of media interact with individual differences to modulate these networks. Other areas of inquiry include how evolutionarily derived motivations shape media processes as well as the neural basis of persuasion and behavioral change. Before attending UCSB, I held several corporate research positions at companies such as Nissan North America, The Walt Disney Company, and Lieberman Research Worldwide.
