Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company is engaged in the development, manufacture, sales and services of automotive components, transportation related components, industrial machines and systems, and offers a wide range of automotive systems including engine management systems, electric power train systems, drive control systems and car information systems.

Rob Sharpe is the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc., located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He entered into the Sales and Marketing Group of Hitachi Automotive Systems in 1989, working on projects ranging from powertrain components and systems, including electrification, to marketing sponsorship opportunities, including the IndyCar racing series. During his tenure at Hitachi, Rob also worked for Hitachi Automotive Systems China as Vice President of Sales, responsible for all Western JV OEM’s in China. He returned from China in Dec 2015, progressing into his current position. Prior to his assignment in China, Rob served as a member on the General Motor’s Supplier Council. Rob is 1985 graduate from Lake Superior State University, with a Major in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Minor in Marketing. Outside of the office, Rob coaches high school basketball and volunteers for the Special Olympics as a coach and mentor.
