Heartland Dental, LLC is the largest dental support organization in the United States with more than 700 supported dental offices located in 32 states. Based in Effingham, Illinois and founded by Rick Workman, DMD, Heartland Dental offers supported dentists and team members continuing professional education and leadership training, along with a variety of non-clinical administrative services including staffing, human relations, procurement, administration, financial, marketing, and information technology.

As Heartland Dental’s Chief Operating Officer, I have the privilege of leading the strongest talent in the industry as we provide world-class support to our supported doctors, integrate new offices into the Heartland Dental family of supported practices, and create synergies between the clinical and operations side of the business. As one of the fastest-growing DSOs in the country, we have to be nimble, dynamic and always ready to lean in. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my over 25 years at Heartland, a lot has changed, but one thing hasn’t – our dedication to continuous improvement and a belief in doing the right thing for the right reason. From my early days in accounting and across all the roles I’ve held at Heartland Dental, great leadership has been at the heart of our company, and I proudly carry that torch today. As an Operations team, we are an instrumental component of Heartland Dental's growth and development, rooted in the needs of our supported doctors and their teams. A great day of work for me is knowing we’ve enabled our supported doctors and their teams to focus on the task at-hand – the patients and communities they serve.
