Rich Wolowski is President and Chief Executive Officer of Gordon Food Service (GFS), a multibillion dollar, privately held family managed foodservice distribution company with operations in the U.S. and Canada. Rich also holds a seat on the GFS Board of Directors. Rich has been with GFS since 2004. In that time, he has held key positions within the company including Director of Program Sales, General Manager of the Central States Division, Senior Manager of U.S. National Accounts Sales/Distribution, North America eBusiness, and Chief Operating Officer. As a champion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and social justice, Rich has brought these passions together in multiple initiatives that will boldly shape the future of the food supply chain and fulfillment ecosystems, and the communities that GFS serves. As a mentor for The Food Foundry, a startup accelerator based in Chicago, he's helping inventors and founders bring transformative, problem-solving ideas to market. Rich also launched Relish Works, a Chicago-based innovation hub focused on pioneering breakthrough solutions that will advance the growth and evolution of the food industry. His passion for innovation is also evident in GFS's support for communities, including a sponsoring partnership with Kimbal Musk’s “Big Green” initiative to bring healthy food and learning gardens to 100 Detroit public schools. Rich was also instrumental in forging a partnership with Thrive Farmers, an organization dedicated to fair trade for vulnerable small coffee farmers in developing economies. Rich is a thought leader and frequent public speaker on all areas surrounding the foodservice distribution value chain, including the innovation and disruption happening in and around this space. In addition, he speaks on the importance of building a value-based organizational company culture and how important people are to a companies success.
