Alexander Rayden is a Senior Managing Director, Partner of Evercore and a founding member of its Private Funds Group (“PFG”). Alexander leads the PFG team coverage of institutional investors across Europe & Middle East as well as being involved in all aspects of originating, developing and managing capital raising mandates for financial sponsors. Alexander has been involved in over $100 billion of global capital raisings for private fund sponsors across multiple strategies including Buyout, Infrastructure, Private Debt, Energy and Real Estate. Alexander was named as a winner of the 2015 European Emerging Leaders Awards by The M&A Advisor; included by Private Equity International (PEI) in the 2018 "The Rainmaker 50" list; and in the 2019 “Future 40 Under 40: The next leaders of private equity”. In 2022, Alexander was named by Infrastructure Investor in its “Rainmaker 20 List - Infrastructure’s Ace Fundraisers”. From 2015-2019, Alexander served on the Board of Directors of a leading private equity backed global software company. Alexander currently serves as a Board Member and Trustee of a London based community charity. Prior to joining Evercore, Alexander worked in the Alternatives Advisory & Placement Group at Neuberger Berman, acquired by Evercore in 2010, and before that in the same group at Lehman Brothers. Alexander began his career at Patron Capital Partners, a real estate private equity fund. Alexander holds a B.A. (Hons) in History from the London School of Economics & Political Science and an M.A. from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, Columbia University, New York. Alexander is the author of a published book; The People’s City: A History of the Influence and Contribution of Mass Real Estate Syndication in the Development of New York City.
