Richard is an experienced CIO. His strength is in connecting the two strands of his career, as an IT professional and as a mechanical engineer, to apply information and digital technologies to enable efficient operation and the growth of businesses. He has been accountable for the delivery of Digital/IT strategy and for all operational IT services in large corporations and medium sized private businesses. Richard was most recently Group CIO at ERM. Prior to this he held a variety of IT leadership positions at BP including Chief of Staff to the Group CIO and as CIO for BP Azerbaijan. He spent the first five years of his career as a mechanical engineer. Richard is a conscientious and driven leader who takes care of his team and has a track record of delivering results. He has extensive experience of collaborating with C-Suite executives and his strength is in the application of information and digital technologies to deliver and shape business strategy. His capabilities and experience both as an engineer and an IT professional position him very strongly to lead the digitization of business processes to improve safety, increase productivity and to access new value opportunities.
