I've worked with technology in numerous vertical industries to provide effective solutions to business problems. Yes, it's a sentence chocked full of buzzwords, but it's what I do. I take the time to understand the business needs of my clients or employers and suggest solutions that make sense as opposed to using whatever the latest & great solution a vendor is looking to sell. From my early days in sales and service selling amateur and commercial radio equipment, I've learned that passion for a field often translates to success and growth. I have been passionate about technology since obtaining my first Amateur Radio license at 12 years old. I was that nerd kid that got a computer instead of a car. That love for technology has grown into a career that has presented me with with some awesome opportunities. While working for KComm (the ham store), I travelled internationally to build a repeater system on the side of a Mexican volcano. After leaving the ham store, I went to work for a client refitting the Caldwell County Jail with a remote facility control panel that allowed the guards to monitor and open or close any door from a single point. From there, I joined friends working for Airship International, taking a position as a night sign programmer/operator for Airship Shame. From there to Interface Airships, where I designed and fabircated the flight instrumentation for a 90ft blimp. Shortly after deciding that airships held little future financially, I started to focus on software and 3D design. I provided support to a private credit card processor as well as call center applications for a medical insurance provider. But it was in 1998 that I went to work doing 3D modeling for Merck, Inc that I found my passion. From Merck, I went to Bristol Myers to develop a 3d virtual conferencing tool for scientists to share data. I then moved on to apply my 3d skills to estimating high-rise concrete construction projects. Several straight programming jobs were scattered in there until I came to work supporting the National Institute of Forensic Science Technology (Now FIU). There I worked on a number of products from virtual crime scene training to NIJ crime lab accreditation audit tools. I've taken the last few years to tend to my mother and recover from her passing. I keep myself occupied with 3D printing and amateur radio experimentation, but find myself wanting to solve bigger problems than I have access to at the moment. So... If you're looking for someone with a brain that can be trusted to think with it on your behalf, I'm your man.
