Colleen has been connecting customers and brands through visual storytelling for over 20 years. She has built and lead creative teams for 10+ iconic brands, within the technology, fashion, home, lifestyle and beauty sectors. She is responsible for ideating and executing advertising campaigns, retail visual experience, and digital footprint including; photography, video content, social content, digital advertising, digital marketing campaigns and e-commerce. As a multidisciplinary creative, Colleen has worked for Clinique, Coach, J.Crew, Martha Stewart, Levis, Williams Sonoma, and Apple. WHAT WAS YOUR VERY FIRST JOB? My first job was for Woods + Woods, a small packaging design firm in San Francisco. PLEASE DESCRIBE WHAT YOUR JOB IS AND WHAT WORK IT ENTAILS: I tell stories and I create experiences to enhance brands, connect with customers, and sell product. HOW DID YOU DISCOVER THAT THE CREATIVE WORLD WAS RIGHT FOR YOU? I was always more comfortable with pictures than with words. I began college as a math major. I discovered graphic design as an elective. To me graphic design wasn’t so different than math… it was solving problems and communicating, with a visual language. I was good at solving problems in that way. I had no expectations. I just loved doing it… and 25 years later I still do. HOW DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION TO KEEP YOUR WORK FRESH, INNOVATIVE AND RELEVANT? I pay attention. Inspiration is everywhere.
