When Burgess & Niple was established in 1912, the science of water management was in its infancy. Roads were for horses and carriages. And nobody had heard of environmental assessment. Through all of the changes in the past century, B&N gained first-hand experience and a reputation for high quality work along the way. We have designed roads, buildings, dams, tunnels, bridges, sewers, and hydroelectric power plants. We inspect, survey, study, develop and plan. We have pioneered many techniques, including breakthroughs in water treatment and new approaches to bridge inspection. As technology develops, we continue to work on the leading edge, always seeking innovative and cost effective solutions.

I’ve learned that the best way to achieve success is to motivate people and resources continuously with personal, well-defined objectives and avenues for education and empowerment. My philosophy of work ethic is based on personal standards of integrity, quality, and service, along with a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt quickly to new ideas and situations allows me to span multiple areas in both business and non-profit. My personality profile says: • A confident, driving individual who desires to learn and reacts quickly to change. • A self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, stamina and work detail. • A fast learner who is a practical at figuring out how all the pieces and resources fit together efficiently. • An intrigued inquisitor with unique qualities of seeing how people are different and work together.
