Timothy Chiu is a seasoned and experienced product and technical marketing executive in Silicon Valley. As Sr. Director of Product Marketing at Netskope, Tim managed a PMM team responsible for CASB, Security Posture Management, Data Protection/DLP and Remote Browser Isolation. Part of the lead team helping to place Netskope as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner MQ for Security Service Edge (SSE) and as a Leader in the 2021 IDC MarketScape for Cloud Security Gateways (CASB). Tim is the former VP or Marketing for K2 Cyber Security, Inc. Under Tim's leadership, K2 won a number of industry awards including CRN's Emerging Vendors - Security for 2020, the Cybersecurity Breakthrough Award for 2020, Cyber Security Excellence Award - Silver for Best Cyber Security Startup for 2021, and the Globee Best Startup, Silver for 2021. Timothy is the former Sr. Director of Product Marketing at Symantec, a division of Broadcom (through the Symantec acquisition of Blue Coat). At Blue Coat/Symantec, Tim worked in Technical and Product Marketing roles, including managing a team of Product Marketing Managers and Technical Marketing engineers, launched new hardware and software products, and started the Technical Advisory Board, driving product direction and roadmap. Tim successfully launched 3 new hardware generations each with record revenues, and completed 3 refresh hardware cycles each exceeding target revenues. Under Tim's leadership, Blue Coat ProxySG has been in the leader's quadrant for 12 years of the Gartner MQ for SWG (Secure Web Gateway). Prior to joining Blue Coat Tim worked at e-mail security and server company, Mirapoint for 9 years and was instrumental in driving Mirapoint product direction and sales as Director of Technical Marketing, Manager of Systems Engineering, Senior Product Manager, and as Director of WW Application Engineering. Tim started managing and administering e-mail systems in 1988 and has been postmaster and Systems/Network Administrator at high tech companies including AMD and SynOptics/Bay Networks. He has also held product management and marketing positions at Bay Networks, Cirrus Logic and Network Tools. Tim holds an MBA in product management and marketing from Santa Clara University, a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in economics from the Wharton School of Business. Tim is an alumnus of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology from the University of Pennsylvania. Tim has also been an instructor in Unix Administration for UC Berkeley Extension from 1999 to 2005.
