I’m not good at math(s). Or, by association, statistics. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m not it. I’m pretty good at medical writing, but that’s not really what I do anymore; I did that straight out of lab research, but no-one asks me to be a bench scientist again (which, I have to admit, is a very good move on their part). What I AM good at, is being a bit of a Jack Of All Trades, and picking up new skill sets on the fly. I’m currently leading the Medical Affairs department of an (awesome) innovative and fast-paced company developing gene therapy products for rare diseases. We do a whole host of activities to support the drug development process, as well as planning for commercialization. Rare diseases are my niche, though I’ve worked on more common therapeutic areas, too. I have considerable experience with registries (from new to mature programs), phase IV trials, and investigator-sponsored studies in local as well as global markets. I’m also experienced in medical communications activities, KOL and patient advocacy engagement/liaison, scientific advisory board development and management, publication planning, and payor-focused materials. Recently, I've also started dabbling in PROs, burden of illness studies and health outcomes, which I'm better at than stuff involving numbers... There's probably other stuff I'm reasonably competent at, too. But not maths. (**I recognize that LinkedIn is a networking site, and value it as such.
